Formed in 2017 Kerang Women's Football Club was one of eight founding member clubs the same year of the Northern Country Women's League. "Women's football is the second-fastest growing sport in the world, and regionally, the decision was made between Kerang and the league to set up a side," the club's women's team co-ordinator, Nick Hunter said.[1] Initially at least the Blues found the going tough, winning just 2 and drawing 1 of their 10 home and away matches to end up above only winless North Bendigo on the premiership ladder. A year later there was significant improvement resulting in finals qualification and a highly creditable fourth place finish.
